The Birthday

Ok, one week later, but here is the birthday recap.

I went down on Monday (the 13th) to spend the week helping Julie get ready for the long awaited party. It was exhausting, but oh so worth it.

On Tuesday we took Mina to have her one year pictures made. While the photographer was click, clicking I took the opportunity to take some photos of my own, because Mina was so darn cute.

Here are the best ones I got:

Mina's birthday was the actual day of her party, so we spent most of the morning yelling, "Happy Birthday!" at her and telling her she was one. Mostly she just looked at us like we were crazy, but when it came time to open presents she definitley got it. Girlfriend knew what to do and she was super excited. I've never seen a one year old go after presents like she did. Frank and Julie will most certainly have their handsful in the future.

The party was bumblebee themed, which I'm sure you can tell from the pictures, so I'll just let them do most of the talking for me.

I had a hard time getting good, clear photos of Mina opening her presents. She was so excited and all over the place so most of my photos turned out to be blurry, action shots. But I did shoot a little video. Here it is.

I think everyone had a great time and I was glad to be able to help. Julie has already started planning for next year, but I made her promise to let me rest until January. ; )

I made it out alive

The birthday party was great and turned out beautifully.

I'm back at my temporary home now, but I don't have access to my computer yet. After we moved in here, we just spent a day getting things straightened up and then both left for a week. So everything is still a little chaotic right now. I'll post party pictures and my project 365 as soon as possible, but it might be Friday before any of that happens.

It's so nice to be back with Andy (even if he is traveling for most of the week), and I'm very much looking forward to doing as little as possible for the next few days. The last two weeks have been really productive and also fun, but I'm ready for a little normalcy again.

I hope you all have a wonderful week, and I promise I'll get back to regular blogging as soon as I can.

Quick update before the slave driver cracks her whip...

So we moved on Saturday. It was successful. I was exhausted.

Sunday, Andy and I tried to get boxes and things organized so we could find our stuff.

Yesterday I came down to help Julie with finishing up preparations for Mina's birthday party this coming Saturday.

We have plans and projects and we're both running on empty. Exhaustion and estrogen are high in this house right now.

If you don't hear from me by Monday, send help.
